I installed canon photo print app on my samsung galaxy s3 and it can't detect my canon mg6140 printer. Is there anything I can do? Wi-Fi is turned on as well as printer.

Welcome. I am sorry that nobody here has experience with your particular situation, which I assume is why nobody has answered yet.
I can at least offer this somewhat generic advice:
You will need to make sure that the printer has connectivity (WiFi is turned on but does it actually have a good connection?), that a computer can print to it via WiFi, that a different Android device can print to it, and that your router isn't interfering in some way (for this you would have to either replace the router with a different model or take the printer and phone to another router).
By testing those things you can narrow it down to find out exactly what needs work.
