Help Trouble with Facebook on my Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6 Tablet

Trying to use Facebook on my Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6 I get the home page but if I try to open my friends or photo links nothing happens. On my timeline no videos will play along with other problems. I found that going into Facebook settings then going to Access Your Information from there go to Portal then Your Portals from the header bar I can open all the items that I couldn't open before. How do I get Facebook to work from the App? I have tried the suggestions online like clearing the data cache etc. also uninstalling and reinstalling the App but that doesn't help. Can anyone offer any suggestions.

Try going into the Settings >> Apps menu, find the Facebook app entry, tap on the 'Force stop' button, and then find and tap on the 'Clear data' button. Using Clear data will delete any previous settings and configuration files for the app, essentially returning the app to its original, first-time used state (no uninstalling some apps do not necessarily wipe their residual settings/ config data, with some apps it does but for most it does not until you intentionally remove them, and no the cache doesn't retain settings data either, the cache is just just temporary working files the apps requires to run).
Now start up the Facebook app again (you'll need to re-enter your user name and password) and see if this made any improvement in accessing your account.

Another option some prefer to use (given how much data mining the FB app does) is to access your FB account using just the web interface in your browser app.

Tried the force stop and clear data route but it didn't work. I was wondering if it has something to do with having my Facebook account on my desktop has the info stored on there. My desktop FB works fine.

Are there any options in the Facebook app on your phone that might look like they might be in some way tied to what you're seeing through the app's user interface? If you use a browser app to access your Facebook account does that work out any better?
Keep in mind that your actual Facebook account data is all managed and sourced within Facebook's online servers. It's always a server <<<>>> client matter where your Facebook account 'exists' within Facebook's servers; and what you see in your desktop browser, or your mobile device, or wherever is simply the on the receiving end, the client.
