trouble with my wifi samsung galaxy s3

well for the past couple of months my wifi internet has not been working. the wifi option on my settings always says turning on but is never actually on and I cant get it to just turn off its always in that bit between
the wifi symbol on the primary settings when you push down the tab just is a dull green but isn't off or on and doesn't change no matter how many times I press it
ive tried the whole *#0011# and turned the wifi option off but it did nothing

ive upgraded it to the latest firmware and nothing has changed
does anyone know how to fix this

That happens on Android phones from time to time. Often a software update will help but from what you are describing it sounds like a software bug in your phone. If you backup and Factory Data Reset your SIII it should fix it right up. You can also try some of the suggestions listed in this How to fix Android Wi-Fi Guide.
