Help trouble with sounds

I switch the notification sound to something like a simple beep using zedge.

Now i get random songs playing when someone texts me?! I plugged my usb in from my laptop and it started playing a song thats on my SD card. earlier today when someone called it played a different song. I deleted mixzing thinking that might have been the problem. nope. I couldnt turn the song off either haha I didnt know where it was originating from! while it was playing i changed my notification sound to a beep again.. didnt stop the song. I had this problem half a year ago and I forget how I fixed it. Might have to take all the songs off my SD card and re put them on again.

I just remembered. I havent used my stock earphones in a while and I remember back in the day when I had this problem I was using the earphone.. i started using them again yesterday. Maybe its a glitch when you plug in the SE headphone?

Delete the song?

If you are using Windows, there is an option when you plug in any device Windows asks you what you want it to do. There is option to also do that thing everytime.

I am confused.

Walk us through it.

If I send you a txt right now, will it play a song?

Or are you saying when you plug your phone in to a power source (including USB) that is when the phone starts playing a song? Or the computer?

If on the phone, open Settings->Sounds and change the ringtone and notification to something else....do you have the options checked at the bottom?

Do you have some sort of ringtone app?

Open a task manager when it plays this song...see what apps are running on the phone

If the computer is playing the track, then it is a setting on the computer. After connecting the drive, open My Computer, right click on the appropriate drive letter and chose Properties, then somewhere in there is the option to change it. I am not on Windows, and can't remember.

Wow....

Do you get random songs when the same person texts you? What text/messaging app are you using?
 
I just deleted all the songs off my card and now I am back to the usual zedge tones I assign to certain things. Just must have been a glitch or something and some of the Mp3s got in the way of the processes?

its not just texts.. phone calls were a different song than what I assigned. and all notification sounds including plugging in USB, texts, etc all play a certain song from my SD. and not just 2 seconds of it. the whole song. so its one of those things where you cant stop the song because there is NO source playing it. its just playing. get it?lol the only way to stop it was to turn off the phone or let the song finish up
