Just backup your sdcard to your computer. After that just go to settings, SD card & phone storage settings, unmount the card, format it, copy everything back over.
After I did that I have no more problems with backing up with Rom Manager and installing roms.
I hope this helps anyone else that runs into this problem.
Just want to throw in clockworkmod. Downgraded to an earlier version of clockworkmod and was able to backup with errors. Sigh.. Not sure what fubared my sdcard. I just hope this permeates the net for anyone who runs into this damn problem.
