Root Trying to SBF but device needs a driver!

I'm sorry that there are so many threads like this, but I haven't found one that really helps me.

I probably screw up my phone a little bit by doing a factory reset while having recovery bootstrap and my phone rooted. I would like to get my phone back to stock 2.2 or 2.3 unrooted plain jane software so that I can just sell it on ebay or whatever.

I already have RSD lite and the SBF file on my computer (running XP). When I plug my phone in, turned on, my phone is recognized as a USB storage device just fine. When I put my phone in bootloader, it is not recognized by the computer and it searches for a new driver, which it does not end up finding. And I think that is why RSD lite has been unable to flash my phone with the SBF file. I've tried downloading drivers from motorola, but they seem to all be just for when the phone is turned on and not in bootloader mode. Do I need a driver for bootloader to be flashed?

When I did this, I used the following:

MotoHelper_2.0.53_driver_5.2.0.exe (USB drivers)
VRZ_A955_2.3.20_1FF_10.sfb (SFB file)

And everything worked perfectly (on XP).

Try uninstalling the USB drivers you have now, and reinstalling the latest ones maybe?

That didn't help either I'm afraid. I basically have done that already, just with a newer version of motohelper. But I thought what the hell, and gave the 2.0.53 a shot. Still the same thing. RSD does not pick up the device. And when the phone is in boot mode, connected via USB cable, the computer device manager still puts an yellow exclamation mark over the phone (listed as a TI OMAP whatever).
