Help Trying to stop my sound from dimming when notifications come in

So, like my headline says, I am trying to stop the sound from dimming whenever I have a notification come in on my phone.

For example, I am listening to music on my phone or watching a YouTube video and i will usually have one of 3 notifications come in: Twitter, email, or text message. When one of those notifications comes in, the sound of whatever video I am watching or music that I am listening to dims for like 3 or 4 seconds and that interrupts the music I am listening to, or I will have to remind the video I am watching because I missed a crucial point in that video.

Now, I have tried searching on the internet to find answers to my question, but all those answers really don't help me out as they all mostly say that I have to deal with it.

If anyone could help me find an alternative that doesn't have to deal with me downloading an unnecessary app to my phone, that would be excellent.

I am sorry for bothering y'all. Have a happy new year's everyone.

Unfortunately there isn't a global setting for this with the default music app, but there are a few workarounds.

First, you could try a different music player. Poweramp does have a setting to give audio focus priority to media playback over notifications. You could also create a tasker profile to mute or block notifications while music is playing.

Of course you said you didn't want to have to download anything new. You could put your phone into airplane mode so you don't get any calls or notifications at all, which would be fine if you were plating local media and didn't care about missing the notifications, but if you stream the music, then that's a non-starter.

You can also turn the volume off for all other sounds but media. Now, I have not tried this, but I have read some say it works and others say that they still get the drop in volume even though the notification sounds don't play. You'd have to test this for yourself. You'll also have to turn the volume back up when you were done listening or you'll keep missing the messages. Or, and again, I haven't tried this, you could turn on DO NOT DISTURB which you can schedule to be on for a set period of time, or indefinitely. DND will block notifications based on priority which you can set in settings>sound>do not disturb>set priorities.

I listen to Sirius with my phone and a Bose speaker frequently and i agree, it's annoying, but i have to deal with it because I need to get messages as they come in.
