Trying to Tether camera to Tablet

Hi Folks,

I'm trying to tether my Nikon D7200 camera to an android tablet that I have.

Don't know what the name of the tablet is but its running ver 4.2.2 & has a Dual Core -A23 processor, I'm told that I should use a software called helicon, but when I download it I'm told that the version isn't compatible to the tablet. I have all the leads that are required.
I also download a package called DSLR Remote which wont work either.
When I try to open it it tries to switch on Bluetooth and just sits there.

Any help will be appreciated

Regards

First of all, two things:

(1) Go into Settings > About Phone (at the bottom) > Model ... this should tell you what device you have if you're curious.
(2) You can also download Forums for Android (our official app) which should automatically put you in the forum for your specific tablet (if it's recognized).

You may also try asking this question in the forums for those specific apps. Again, the best way to do this is by downloading the app and finding the related forum in the "This Section" area of the app (under "Forums").

It's very possible that these apps only support more recent versions of Android as Android 4.2.2 is very old.

Best of luck!

Think you might need to check with Helicon, the app developers, as to what versions and devices they do support. I would guess that your "ver 4.2.2 & has a Dual Core -A23 processor" tablet is a no-name cheapo device, which could very well be the problem.

The other one, which "DSLR Remote" are you referring to, this one?

The one I read uses USB. Your tablet would need to have the resolution or you would have to turn the camera resolution down.

I have a Canon 20D. It is 12MP. My cell phone is 21MP so it would work. Your Nikon might be too much for that tablet.

Can you reduce to 640X480 or even 1024x768?

Thanks for replies. It probably is a cheapo, so I think I'll scrap the idea and use my laptop. The tablet was there & not being used so it seemed like a good idea at the time. Thanks again for your help
