I am new to all this technoligy but I want to know what I'm doing wrong I tried hooking my laptop up to my galazy3 to us the wifi from my phone. I don't have internet right now. My charger has a usb at the end of it so I plugged it in and it flashed I was connected to media in the laptop but I couldn't get the wifi on laptop to connect.it ask for network and ISP.what do I do?

You need to get a WiFi tether app from the play store. Most of them require root but some don't. Also your carrier may make you pay extra for a tethering service

Ok, let's clear this. You don't have WiFi in your area, and you want to use the internet on your phone on your laptop, that's what you want right?

Once you plug in your phone onto your laptop, open the phone settings, and navigate to more networks>tethering>usb tethering. That will transmit the internet connection of your phone to your laptop. Mobile Hotspot option turns your phone into a WiFi router, so you don't need a cable if you use that.

The problem herein is that of course this would cost you via your carrier network. Some of them charge you extra for tethering.
