Like this pat down of an 8 month old:They should rename the "TSA" to the "LCM" (Legal Child Molesters).
The thing is the public is buying the security theatre. That's what is sad about it. I was on another forume where we were discussing the implanted bomb warnings that came out recently. One of the members there said, "so would you rather be scanned in a machine naked or have a whole airplane blew up by terrorists". This seems to reflect the thinking of Americans everywhere. Our forefathers are rolling over in their graves.
The only way to deal with the threat and protect your people is to fix your foreign policy. The same goes for us in the UK.It is so very sad that we do not seem to be smart enough to protect our people and protect us against terrorism. We should look at Israel and how they deal with their airports and passengers and a threat that is in many ways more serious than in this country.

Focussing time and resources on airport security and domestic security in general is like trying to mop up the puddle when the pipe is still leaking.
Those are lies and strawmen perpetuated by politicians to deflect attention away from foreign policy. Many of the things terrorists hate us for are a vital part of this country, so I am not sure a sweeping foreign policy change will satisfy them. They hate capitalism, our religious freedom, our success...

It's natural for the public to want to know why they are attacking us. So, the government issues a tidy, little slogan - 'They hate us for our freedoms' - that people can refer to whenever the 'Why' of it all starts bothering them.

TSA screeners start at $11 an hour. You're not getting the cream of the crop with that.
The term security theater sums it up pretty well.
Like invasions of sovereign Middle East countries; support for despotic regimes (Saddam, Mubarak, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, Fahd bin'Abdul-'Aziz, Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, etc., etc.); the overthrow of democratic governments (Iran 1953, Operation Ajax); one-sided support for Israel with arms, money and UN Security Council vetos; humanitarian failures (help our "allies" rebuild after the Soviet war in Afghanistan); and so on.
Did you read that off McCarthy's flash cards?
Capitalism as a system of government (like in the US) is exceedingly destructive (as should be apparent to all by now, unless of course they are paid enough to ignore it). Micro-capitalism, the opportunity to work hard and earn a decent living, is admired world-wide. The Arab nations are not socialist states, they have HUGE poverty and nearly the entire wealth of these countries is held by a corrupt few (kind of sounds like the US ...).
As far as religious freedom goes, there are three main sects of Islam and dozens if not hundreds of sub-sects. Think of it like Christianity (Lutherans, Anglicans, Presbyterians, Unitarians, Baptists, Pentecostals, etc., etc.). They don't hate our freedom of (Christian) religion and more than Christians have crusaded against Islam for a millennium.
As for hating our success - at what? Meddling in their internal affairs, supporting their despotic leaders, bribing those leaders so we can steal their natural resources?
lol it's anything but naivety. Unfortunately, given the huge lack of awareness amongst people when it comes to foreign policy, the truth of it can be quite unbearable. And I don't mean to sound patronising at all.I almost can't believe that anyone is that naive.
Nah, I get all my info like you, from townhall.com.Perhaps you need a library card?
lol it's anything but naivety.
No matter how I follow that chain, I can't find any relevance to TSA shenanigans.
Not every thread is an excuse to maintain an off-topic dialog.
If we're done here I'll be happy to lock this one.
Sorry, that was mainly my fault. No matter how I follow that chain, I can't find any relevance to TSA shenanigans.
