I haven't done any of that. I was messing around with Outlook and my work email wouldn't work unless I entered a password but I deleted the account now.Welcome to the site!
The None option can be greyed out for several reasons - having multiple accounts on the phone, using encryption, if an app is also using that PIN/password, and maybe others.

If you didn't do anything else then Outlook might be the cause. Maybe try clearing the Outlook cache, then see if None/Clear credentials is still greyed out.I haven't done any of that. Clear an apps cache:
1. Go to Settings -> Apps
2. Tap the app (Outlook)
3. Tap Clear Cache
4. You can also tap Clear Data if you're not using Outlook at all.
You can clear your phones cache by doing the following:
1. Go to your phones settings
2. Tap Storage
3. Tap Cached Data
4. It will confirm you want to remove cached data.
