Apps Tutorials for a newbie

Hi guys,

I am new to Android and the only knowledge of computer programming I have is a basic knowledge of html, Basic(spectrum, CPC464) so as far as android is concerned I am a total noob.

I have tried some of the tutorials and though I can follow them I keep getting stuck because one thing or another is not fully explained.

Can anyone advise me where to start or a site to learn from scratch. Much appreciated.

Wasn't Amstrad and Sinclair two opposing forces with similar animosity to Apple and Microsoft? The Spectrum was great, and was based around an awesome chipset (z80). I still have mine, rubber keys still function as well as they did back in the day. Great to see a speccy user on here
Profession Android Application Development by Wrox might be what you are looking for, I have the book and have only glanced over it, but it looks good.
