It is actually a good app, and I used it...until I found an old program I liked and decided to hit the "Favorites" button.
And the app decided to be helpful and alert me every time the show came on.
It not only pops onto the notification bar--it also has a little sonar-y sound, which is amazingly loud when you are trying to sleep. And apparently this particular show plays all night long on cable, over and over and over...
I could not find a way to delete a favorite, only to add one. So I removed the app and went to bed.
Fifteen minutes later, it starts pinging me again
and on through the night.
Apparently, once you mark a show as a favorite in the TV Guide app, it transfers that to Google Calendar (which I never used) and keeps it there into eternity.
I got into Google Calendars and cannot find a way to delete a recurring event, only a single event or all previously-alerted events. I turn off audible notifications, and it turns them back on when it feels a suitable period has passed (IOW, when I am satisfied that it has stopped.)
Can anyone help me stop this before I go stark, raving mad?
A cable channel is showing this show constantly this weekend. It is alerting me every fifteen minutes.
