TV Show Streams: all links dead

Bummer! I had the full version and was on Season 6 of The Wonder Years.

I hope the links/servers are restored. I read some were seized by German authorties.

Their app has also been removed from the market.

Other apps that have been hit include Metaviewer Pro and Movie Stream.

Looks like android's glut of accessible online flash videos is being curtailed.

If you want to watch movies and tv shows, looks like you'll have to fork over large sums of cash... Considering that most carriers are eliminating unlimited data subscriptions and their pay for view video channels are pricier than the old vid apps like Tv Show Streaming.

You could still get the .apk and have TV Show Streams. I just wonder if the links are down permanently.

I really hope Netflix is released for Thunderbolt soon. They have reasonable plans.

Like I said a few months ago when this app was released, it was only a matter of time before it was taken down. That app, and most others like it, link to illegal streams of tv shows and movies.

I was so pissed when i couldn't stream my fav shows anymore!! Does anyone know any other apps that allow tv streaming for channels including CW, CBS, TNT, Bravo, NBC, FOX, TBS, HBO, Cinamax

So you are pissed that you spent money on something that connects to illegal (copyrighted) streams and now it doesn't work anymore?

I use HBO Go. It's very nice, but you have to already have a subcription with your satillite or cable company.

I miss this app! I didn't know it was illegal to view streams though. I thought It was downloading that was illegal. I mean, I can watch Lost on its ofticial website for free. Same with The office and other TBS shows.

Well watching a stream you didn't pay for is just as illegal as downloading it.

Network shows like that are shown for free on their website because they make you watch ads, which pay for the streaming and the program itself. And normally, with network shows like that, they only let you watch the latest season, all older seasons are taken down because they want you to buy the dvd's.

I wonder how much the dev made during the short period it was available... seemed pretty obvious it would eventually get removed. I'm actually surprised it lasted as long as it did.

lol! wonder years... classic.

Plus they block access for those of us in countries with a bad reputation for piracy.

There's a facebook page out there somewhere. Some of the comments are rather funny, in a sad sort of way.

Right. The official website, of course, has rights. The specific method of delivery doesn't matter. If someone isn't authorized to distribute a given copyrighted material then it's illegal to distribute it. If a carrier pigeon was used to distribute it would still be illegal.

Rights aren't cheap (read up on Netflix and its plan changes). As the old saying goes, if it seems to good to be true it probably is. A free app that isn't affiliated with the content producer in anyway should definitely raise flags when it offers material that is clearly copyrighted.

So the person that uploaded is doing that illegally. Is clicking the link and watching illegal? The app TV Show Streams was for sale for a long time in the Market. I had the free lite version for a while.

Is it illegal if I click on a link and watch?

I don't pay to watch Lost online on the official site. So if I used TV Show Streams to watch that, it's illegal?

Under the law, what Is the fine, penalty it jail time for watching a stream that is there Illegally? Has anyone ever been charged with watching illegal streams?

Again, shows like that are free because of the ads you have to watch before and during the program. The app you are talking about does NOT link you to abc's official streaming site, it links you to illegal streams.

Depends, it is a federal offense, so you can expect jail time and a fine of a few hundred thousand dollars.

The official site has the right to stream the app was streaming from file sharing sites. Yeah watching it is just as illegal as downloading it you have to download the stream after all. The fines are probably pretty stiff but I don't think the owners are going after the end users but the people who are providing the host file. If you really want your illegal tv streams you could pay to join the video sharing site(s) and stream them from your browser.

Im not condoning or recommending you do so rather you should find a way to get your video fix in a legal manner

I would have no problem sitting through some ads to watch shows, but then you have the cell phone carriers that do not want you tying up their networks with reruns of Night Court. There's definitely an untapped market there, but the networks are bottle necking any advances with this market.
