I'll say right up front that I would be a real failure as a conspiracy theorist.
For example, I believe that foreign islamofacist terrorists are conclusively responsible for the acts perpetrated in the US on 9/11/2001 (and that the U.S. government didn't blow up the Twin Towers). I also believe that NASA actually did land real human beings on the earth's true moon (and return them) several times and it wasn't just simulations on a sound stage somewhere.
That said, I also harbor a respectful and very limited distrust of our government, corporations and institutions, because they are all made of people, and people can and do have their own agendas. (I should perhaps note that I have a significantly greater degree of distrust when it comes to politicians.)
So I was really taken aback when I recently watched the documentary "TWA Flight 800." A snapshot summary from IMDB says, "A thought-provoking documentary about the ill-fated Trans World Airline Flight 800 to Paris, France, which exploded on July 17, 1996 just 12 minutes after takeoff from JFK International Airport, killing all 230 people on board. The special features six former members of the official crash investigation breaking their silence to refute the officially proposed cause of the jetliner's demise and reveal how the investigation was systematically undermined."
That's an understatement. It's one of the most thought-provoking movies I've ever seen and I would commend it to you highly. It's a tight ninety-two minutes of witness and investigator interviews, evidentiary reviews and smoking guns that will leave you convinced that what actually happened to this 747 airframe had nothing at all to do with the aircraft itself.
Check it out when you have the time. If you're an Amazon Prime member you can stream it for free.
