Twice the data Promo

Verizon is offering this "Twice the Data" promo that you all should look into: Verizon’s “Twice the Data” Promo is Live, Time To Double Up That Tiered Plan – Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog
I'm grandfathered into unlimited on my Inc, but I recently added the girlfriend to my plan. She got an Inc 2, but only a 2gb plan because as we all know Verizon got rid of unlimited. I called in just now to double her data free. The operator put me on hold for a sec to "check something" came back and said she was going to give the gf's line unlimited data for free! This is no joke. I checked on the Verizon website when I got off the phone, and sure enough, unlimited data for no extra charge! You guys might want to try this out, it can't hurt.
 
Great find! Any idea if this will apply to mobile hotspot service? My wife and I both have unlimited data plans, but we want to add the hotspot service on her line when we upgrade later this week.

Unfortunately, I have no idea. That's all the info I have. Good luck though!
 
Called my local Verizon shop and he said that it did not apply to hotspot service. But, who knows, once we do our Costco upgrade maybe I can sweet talk someone on the phone into adding it.

You'd be VERY surprised at what they, or a "supervisor", can actually do for you if they feel like it. This applies to most CS reps. for most companies.
 
I am grandfathered - so I suggested in that other thread that to match the offer VZW should offer us half off on our unlimited plans :D
