rec'd notice when I opened twidroyd from twitter support that they have suspended twidroyd along with ubertwitter and ubercurrent for violations of policy. Anyone know what this is about and if it will be fixed soon.

Twitter Help Center

just saw it too. sucks as i just switched to it and created a custom theme....

I wonder if Twitter even contacted the developers of Twidroyd to give a warning or just cut them off instantly. If Twitter did contact them, then what does that say about the developers???

I don't know, just frustrated as i tested pretty much every Android Twitter app before settling on Twidroyd.

yeah I've been using twitroyd for over a year and sort of liked the latest update although it did have a couple of bugs in it for me. I'd hate to have to try out another app at this point as twitroyd did everything I needed. I am thinking it had something to do with the new update and they can roll it back some to get in line with Twitter again. At least that is what I am hoping.

Just for giggles I downloaded and installed both the free and Pro versions and they both logged in and worked (did not get a warning notice). Reading comments in the markets, many others have experienced the suspension problem. I have been using Plume for a while and just find it more to my liking.

I just started using it so i could dump twitter's fat app that was hogging up space on my internal memory! I'm stuck with twidroid since it was included with the phone...

That really sucks....I hate the official "Twitter for Android" app, it is garbage.
It looks like I will try Plume and Hootsuite

I just found this. Doesn't look like it will be a quick fix or comeback if they have been trying to work it out since last April. I downloaded Plume which seems ok. It is what used to be touiteur which twitter made them change the name. I think I tried it early on and didn't like it much but will try again.

Twitter has blocked the UberTwitter and Twitroyd applications, which are third-party apps used by select smartphones, from accessing and using Twitter's services. Twitter spokesperson Carolyn Penner said it took these actions due to policy violations. "These violations include, but aren't limited to, a privacy issue with private Direct Messages longer than 140 characters, trademark infringement, and changing the content of users' Tweets in order to make money." Both applications are developed and distributed by a company called UberMedia. "We've had conversations with UberMedia, the developer of these applications, about policy violations since April 2010, when they first launched under the name TweetUp -- a term commonly used by Twitter users and a trademark violation," said Penner. UberMedia hasn't responded publicly to Twitter's suspension. Users of the UberTwitter and Twitroyd applications will need to use an alternative application order to access Twitter from their handsets.

@twidroyd posted this a little while ago....

~~ PLEASE RT ~~ a new version of twidroyd that resolves our twitter ban will be avail. shortly on the android market. FTW

Still waiting impatiently. Plume is OK, as is Seesmic. Both lack anything like the LivePreview feature I really want.

I'm back using the latest version of Twidroyd Pro.

I have two twitter accounts. However, it doesn't seem to show my "default account" rather than "all accounts", despite the fact I have left the option to show "all accounts" unticked.

The aviator black them is also terrible if you choose to display it normally.
