Two major flaws with the One X

I've been a very happy HTC user, first using the HD2 and then Desire HD, but now I am a bit disappointed with my One X...

First issue: The location and layout of the power button. Despite its size, it's no problem having the One X in your jeans pocket, but then you can be sure it sooner or later (probably sooner) will perform a restart because the button has been pushed down. Why didn't they keep the "sunken" button from the Desire HD, instead of this button which stands out from the chassis?

Second issue: The glass (or plastic) protecting the main camera is already full of scrathes, after two monts of use... Where as on the Desire HD there is hardly any scratches after two years... Needless to say this affects the picture quality.

Seems to me as HTC has chosen two cheap solutions here, anyone else with similar experience?

I agree with both your points and have had them both happen on my phone,
Wouldn't agree that either of them is a major flaw though,

my phone sometimes restarting in my pocket is a little annoying and i agree is caused by poor design,
but end of the day doesn't really affect the day to day usage of the phone,

And I assume the scratches on the camera lens would have to be quite bad for them to really affect the picture quality,

Never had a reset when in my pocket!! No Scratches on camera lens as well!!

I did put a scratchguard on my screen as soon as i bought the phone, so that is perfect too!! :)

Never had a pocket reset, but my camera lens does have a few light scratches on it, doesn't seem to affect the pictures though.

I agree fully with the power button, happened to me a few times. Also happened to my day who got the phone a few days ago. I also had a desire HD so I will also agree that the sunken power button was a great design choice and I hope HTC go back to it.

Haven't had a problem with camera scratch but mine lives in a slip case so it doesn't have contact with surfaces to get scratched all that often.

Slip case ftw.

I dont wear tight jeans but I find the power button to be in a great spot. In fact it is a little more difficult to hit since it is over that little ridge on the casing. Makes it a little more secure in my mind. No resets or power-offs to speak of yet.

As for the camera, I have fashioned a little lens cover for it out of left over screen protector. Works perfect and no scratched lens.

Yes, the power button issue happens when you wear tight pants. It has happened to me dozens of times. Ironically I carry an iphone 4 in the same pocket and the One X grinds against the side of the iphone switching the sound off lol

As for the glass, I agree it is beautiful but promotes easy scratching. I also had a Desire HD previously, and the screen rarely scratched.

I love the One X but there are some things which are driving me crazy...
