Help Two questions, never used android before

Hi, loving my new GS3, big step up from my iphone 4, and don't see myself going back! Anyways...

On my iphone 4, I have notes in the notes app that I need to get off of there and onto my GS3. Does anyone know how to do this in a couple steps? I really don't want to manually copy and paste each one O.o I looked on google and tried a couple suggestions but they didn't work.

Another thing that is driving me nuts, and is really my only complaint with this new phone, is bluetooth. I have bluetooth audio in my car, it's a 2012 corolla. Whenever I end a call, the Google Play Music app starts playing music. The problem is I'm using the Music player app to listen to music in my car and the Play Music app always starts by itself. Even when I kill it in task manager, it just starts every time. I mean like even when I wasn't even playing music before a phone call, it starts automatically. I even decided what the hell, I'll just use the Play Music app but once I go and choose music stored on my phone, it switches to the Music player app. This in turn leads to another frustrating behavior, sometimes both apps play music at the same time... It is really frustrating.

I've read that I should just disable the audio profile in bluetooth settings but then I can't play music through bluetooth. On my iphone, this was never an issue. If I had music playing and a call came in, the music would pause and the music would resume once the call ended, but I would never have music start all by itself after I ended a call.

Sorry, don't have specific suggestions, but to give the thread a little bump... this is simple, but have you checked if there is an Android version of the iOS app you use for notes? Or can the app back up to dropbox or some cloud service where you can download them again?

For the music thing... I again can't say specifically, but whenever I've had bluetooth music problems, including playing when I don't want it to, it's come down to some sort of setting with the bluetooth device for me. Is your end call button the same as the play button? I saw you mentioned it worked for iOS for you, so I don't know why it would be different, just throwing out thoughts. My only practical suggestion would be to double check your settings in your music apps, particularly what you have set for defaults. Maybe someone else can chime with more experience, good luck!

kanezfan,

Welcome to forums & glad you came over from the dark side ( iPhone ). As you will find out the Android experience is the way to go. Glad your enjoying your new S3.

jay that could be valid, hadn't thought about that end call button. I do use the end call button on the car to hang up. I'll try to use the phone to end a call and see if it makes a difference. it wouldn't be so bad if if didn't always choose to play music from the Play Music app though :/

Treb, thank you :)

I think you can use Samsung's Kies software to import stuff from your iphone.

Download it here - but be warned, it can be a bit of a pain to get running properly.

Make sure that you do a backup of your old iphone with itunes, then when you run Kies you can set it to import stuff (contacts/notes/pictures/music) from that backup.

I just ended up emailing myself the notes I wanted to keep. As far as the bluetooth problem, I found out I could disable the Google play music app and it no longer launches. Then I downloaded Poweramp because it pauses and restarts at the same point in the song if a call comes in. My only issue with Poweramp is the song titles don't transfer to the radio so all you see on the display in the car is NO AUDIO. A minor inconvenience but still would like to resolve it.
