Root TWRP Issues

El Presidente

Beware The Milky Pirate!
To cut a long story short, if I try to flash any ROM using the latest TWRP after doing a full wipe, it will fail with the error "unable to open zip file".

If I do a "dirty flash" (just wiping both caches and factory resetting), it will flash fine, if I wipe system, it fails. Tested across 3 different ROMs.

Anyone else had or having the same issues?

TWRP 2.4.1.0 on the Tilapia.

Interesting. I'm not sure what TWRP does for wipe system but it's something different from other recoveries I've used eg Philz on my S3. I'm still on 2.3 and when I tried installing ROMs doing a full wipe, it would boot but keyboard stopped working and system ui was also knacked. Worked fine just doing Factory Reset only.

None of that helps really does it  wonder if it's too do with the 4.2.x system setup and sep users?

I think the function at about line 728 here

Actually, see this

Yeah, it's an odd one.

I wonder if it makes a difference if the ROM install script has a wipe command? I'm off work for a bit now, I'll have time to mess around with alternative ROMs/recoveries etc. If it's just TWRP 2.4.1.0, I'll report it to the devs, see if they can see anything.
