Type text messages from computer screen

On my Windows Mobile phone, I had this great app that let me plug my phone in to my computer then control the screen of the phone, launch apps, type text messages, etc. right from the computer screen. This made it so easy to reply to text messages without my boss knowing, or while being lazy in bed.

Any type of app like this for Android? I downloaded the SDK but I can only take screenshots with it, I can't control the phone.

Theres an app called "Phone Portal" in my Milestone (2.1).
It gives me access to SMS and Call records from my PC Browser.
Dont know if it can launch app or not.

I'd love an app like this too, used to be able to send and receive SMS direct from my address book via Bluetooth with my 5+year old SE-T630 and Mac OSX, so always bemused why it's not almost standard today from any OS/Phone/Outlook/etc.

I had the same problem, so I wrote TextToCloud. It comes with a small PHP file you install onto your own private web server, and it connects to that.

Oh, the cool thing is it still works even if you're outside Wifi range of your phone..

Not what the OP is asking for but I use Google Voice to send/receive SMS from any internet-connected PC. It doesn't offer any of the other functionality that the OP is asking about.

you can use an app called wifikeyboard anything you type on your laptop/pc will appear on your android text field.
