While typing a text phone will just start typing on its own, like a bunch of letters and numbers...and to make it stop you have to do a battery pull.

Non stock charger will do that.. And normally unplugging it fixes it.

But wasnt on the charger.....Verizon said to do an FDR which is there answer to everything and if that dont work they will send another phone.

Nope. Betcha the issue is your phone got physically torqued, or something got lodged under the case of the phone and digitizer.

Try very carefully, grabbing phone in each hand and torque it back and forth like you were going to wring out a wet towel... Only, don't twist too much.

Also, try running your thumb with good pressure around the perimeter of the case.

Yes, I have seen non-stock chargers cause the Spectrum to freak as the other poster mentioned... However, sometimes, people have had the phone in the pocket or it was under something heavy. It's mechanically stressed. Lightly de-torquing destresses the digitizer, or locating the debris that might be lodged between digitizer and perimeter of the case and removing it causes the behavior to go away.

Did the FDR and so far it has been good...except it did act up when connected to OEM charger, so we will see....its my daughters phone and she is an adult, but anyway time will tell.

Bruce, could be an out-of-spec (ha ha) charger.

On eBay, the OEM chargers can be purchased for $5-$7 with cable.

I'd try a different one.

Well FDR didnt work out, Verizon sent her another phone.
