U. S. Government Involved In Recall

The U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is now involved in the Note 7 recall and those of us in the U. S. could be looking at months instead of weeks before we can get a replacement Note 7. I was hoping to keep using my Note 7 until a replacement is available, but that prospect is getting dimmer and dimmer.

Until the CPSC will let them build it, it won't come...

I just came back from Best Buy where someone was getting a replacement (Sprint), so much for your time table.

It's my understanding that Samsung can't replace Note 7 phones in the U. S. until the CPSC has approved a “corrective action plan”, and that can take several months.

I'm about to jump ship and return my device and get the LG v20. I had the LG g3 before this phone and loved it. Now going to the Samsung note 7 has been a nightmare with this recall crap. I love my S pen but I would give it up to have a safe phone.

Thanks MannyrtFresh, I never thought to check into this LG V20 further until you just brought it up here.

This phone and it's specs look awesome!!!

No edge crap to break
Nougat 7.0 installed off the bat - otherwise Big V will take another 6 months to upgrade Note 7
Up to 2 TB external memory - I know - not there yet
Awesome sound and camera
2nd screen at the top for instant access to features
REMOVABLE FREAKIN' BATTERY Darren Washington - Hey Samsung, you seeing that?

Now I wonder what the outright purchase price will be at Big V? It's promising that it will sell for much less than the Note 7

My only reserve may be that I just got a Samsung Smart TV a couple of months ago since I thought that I'd be with them for many years to come.

MannyrtFresh, how's the display look on these regarding quality and daylight viewing? Any input on LG connectivity (signal strength and in call volume) on the V10 you had?

She sure is a looker!

According to news.samsung.com carriers are supposed to be loaning us a samsung J series or equivalent phone until the CPSC approves the new notes. So practically a flip phone. Gee, thanks. Maybe we should all go back to home phones just to be on the safe side.

That is when it becomes official, which will take several months. Until then, Samsung can replace our phones without uncle Sam's approval
