UC Browser Released Android Version for International Users

According to research firm The Nielsen Company, Google's Android handsets accounted for 27 percent of all smartphones sold in the United States in the first quarter of this year, while iPhones made up 23 percent. With no doubt, Android-based handsets is going to beat Apple's iPhone to dominate world's cellphone market. I wish I had an Android Phone to enjoy all the great apps available for it.

Just took it for a spin, and its pretty nice. Its very polished which I like, but some things feel a bit "clunky". Getting to things is a bit of an annoyance, since everything is in the menu just about. Kind of miss a dedicated URL bar. Had to play with the settings to get a page to display its real website and not look like a mobile version.

Speed was ok, I didn't feel like it was that much faster than stock. Is it rendering pages on your own servers like Opera Mini?


Overall a good browser that I'd recommend to people with lower specced phones, but on my Evo I would rather use dolphin or something that takes better advantage of it.

Edit: It needs two things: option to only show flash content on demand, and a way to import bookmarks. Also, I wish the top status bar on your phone would be hidden for more screen real estate.
