Uh oh. Here comes the HTC Evo 4G+ (maybe)

I don't see a thread about this. Maybe this belongs in this forum for now, until it's confirmed that this is coming to Sprint?

Is this the HTC EVO 4G+? (update: official!) -- Engadget
HTC - Products - HTC EVO 4G+ ? Overview

1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 4.3-inch qHD display, and 1GB of RAM. Instead of dual five-megapixel cameras, however, EVO 4G+ packs a 1080p-capable eight-megapixel shooter along with a 1.3-megapixel front-facing cam. The 2D/3D toggle switch has been repurposed to select between still and video camera modes.

In terms of connectivity, EVO 4G+ offers Korea's WiBro flavor of WiMax, 14.4Mbps HSPA+ cellular broadband on the 900MHz and 2100MHz bands, DLNA-enabled 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 3.0.

Engadget predicts this will come to Sprint as the next phone in the EVO 4G lineup.

I doubt it because of it's similarities to the 3D. Why would anybody want the same phone without the 3D (and camera difference). I'm sure Sprint is already moving on to the next big thing (Motorola).

But, thoughts?

Interesting... but on a personal level I would have no reason to wait to get this phone over the Evo3D. Looks like for now it's a Korean release only.

Yeah, I just don't see the "EVO 4G+" coming to the states at all. The article on Phandroid was saying it was like, Korean only or something. And even if it did come to the states, I'd already be locked into keeping the EVO 3D, which I'm commensurately down with.
