UI Crash

Does the UI still crash if you're using the stock Samsung Touchwiz launcher? If it doesn't, then it's possibly an incompatibility problem between Nova launcher and your Note8, and might be worth you contacting them about it.

Question, did you do a restore settings from a Nova backup?
I restored settings from backup that came from my old Note 4 - I was having similar issue (UI Crash) until I cleared app data/cache and just started fresh with Note 8. I've been thru most of the Nova beta versions and this has happened a few times.
If not then no need to reset, just make sure you let the Nova team know... they are quick to resolve fixes or bugs.

You may importing a problem, try a manual set up.
