Help uk 2.1 update for hero/g2. anyone got it yet?

The official European rom has been release in Taiwan in the last couple of days so its out now its up to T-mobile to release it, HTC have done their job to some extent, though they haven't put the up date for the sim-free hero on their website yet.
 
To get the update, set the calendar to July, minutes later the update appears!

I just happened to try it earlier and minutes later the update box come up, i can confirm someone tried it after me and it worked.

Are you talking about the first update or the main 2.1 update?
 
SO will we see 2.1 this month?

Various websites quoted the pre update June to get the pre 2.1 and they were right, do you think the 2.1 will be ready for the G2 soon as the hero update?

I changed my T-mobile G2 Touch (UK) to July 1st and nothing happened, so after about 20 mins I changed it back again.

I don't have a problem waiting for the update, as I've only had my phone for 2-3 months anyway, but just curious as to the reasons why it didn't work...

Are you with T-Mobile in the UK or someone else? I just tried the July 1st data change trick again this afternoon out of curiousity and it still doesn't trigger anything, which suggests that T-Mobile in the UK aren't going to be doing the update in the next week or so?
 
T-Mobile have just announced this on the T-Mobile Forum:

"Recently we released a minor maintenance update for the G2 Touch and we have noticed that a small number of customers were experiencing issues when installing this. After investigating this we have decided to temporarily remove the update. As soon as our investigations are complete we will let you know when the maintenance update will become available. "

Ah, that's probably it. Interesting that they don't elaborate though. Has anyone had any problems with the first part of the update?

I suspect they were probably just not happy that users had figured out a way of triggering it early, and have removed it until the appropriate time.

There does seem to have been a lot of people who get a red triangle after they installed this first update so I think it is probably legit. I tried the forward date thing, and seems a lot of other people did as well, without any luck.
