Anybody got this? I'm currently with Sky but although I am able to order Infinity I am unable to order Sky Fibre for some reason.

I've read that you are throttled on P2P at peak times, how much by? Some things I've read have said it's by 50% which wouldn't be that bad for me, in other reports I've read no matter what speed your line they throttle to 5kbps.. this is unreal if that is true but I have read a lot of reports saying the same.

Is it a good service, although I have a slow line with sky in my village it is constant and rarely drops out.. would it be the same with BT?

Sky Fibre is a fibre-optic service, similar to FIOS in the States. It might not available in your area yet.

I do know that some ISPs throttle P2P during peak times. Hope you're not using P2P for anything illegal?

Think you've answered why Sky Fibre is not available to you. Now if you lived in a large city like London, Birmingham or Manchester. The Sky internet you've got is a DSL service run on BT lines, so it probably would work similar to BT.

Sky Fibre is not available in Beijing either.

Sky fibre and bt infinity are the same service offered by two different companies, if you can get one you should be able to get both... In theory. No your honour, my p2p use is perfectly legal :D

All BT fibre for home users is FTTC (Fibre to the cabinet) meaning the Fibre backbone links exchanges only. Its still PSTN to the home.

Since Sky use BT Exchanges to get Their ADSL to the home, I can't see any way that Sky could offer their own fibre service without using that BT backbone.

Anyway according to Samknows, Boldon gets it 31/12 (same as me)

SamKnows - Broadband Availability - Boldon (NEBO) Exchange

I've never seen this site before, when I put my details onto BT's site that is the day they said I could have it from... maybe the Sky fibre will go live on the same day then. It was supposed to be September for us but openreach put it back. Sky has a lot less on the upload only 2mb but is totally unlimited.

Thanks for that SUroot, useful site!
