Unable to copy URLs

I am using a Moto Z with the most up-to-date version of the Android system. All of a sudden I am unable to copy a link from a website, either by using the Copy Link menu option or by selecting i and doing a long press. I am still able to copy text and paste, just not the urls.

Correction ... Not latest version of Android (Pie), but Oreo.

I'm not sure when this problem started but I was able to copy URL links before. Anybody else have this problem?

What browser are you using?
In Chrome you just long press and choose copy.

Chrome. Yes, I know how to do it and was able to do this up to recently. Now it just doesn't copy. I can still copy and paste text, but not the URL.

Is chrome updated from the play store? You could try clearing the cache for the Chrome app in your phones settings.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have cleared cache and updated Chrome but it's still not working. Again, the long press works for copy/pasting text, but not the URLs. 'Copy link' from the 3-dot menu does nothing either. The URL is not added to the clipboard.
