Unable to delete contacts?

I'm trying to delete the contacts with the blue avatar. I think it's the WhatsApp version of the contact but even deleting on there doesn't remove them.

On a desktop, go to your Gmail account. On the upper left, click on "Gmail" (it's a dropdown) and select "Contacts". Delete whatever you want.
