Help Unable to install non-market applications

Hi,
I'd like to install a non-market application to my OSF.
I've gone to Applications settings> and checked the box which says "Allow installation of non-Market applications". Still can't install any non-Market apps though.

I'm running Android version 2.3.7 with CyangenogenMod 7.2.0
Any help appreciated.

im using same prog n ive lost the market n cant d/lk ANY progs at all top mi fone now n its pishting me off badly/if u get anyone tellin u how to,let me know.sounds as tho u need to tick the box in applications

r u still avin probs going to the market place and uv rooted it?????/ if so i av the prog on mi comp for ppl like urselvbes cos i had probs n NO ONE was helping me out,so if u want.send me a message n ill send u the program to get it back on ur fone
