Unable to receive texts from one contact

Stucco

Newbie
Hi, I have a single contact that is causing texting problems on my phone.

I can send a message, and it is received, but the contact remains in bold signifying an unread message. Even when I click into the contact to read the uunread message, the contact remains bold.

Further, I do not receive texts sent from this contact on my phone. I do receive the texts from this contact in MightyText on my computer.

Model SGH-I747 - Galaxy S3 on ATT
Kernel: 3.4.66-cyanogenmod-gcda64b3 build02@cyanogenmod #1
Cyanogenmod version: 10.2.1-d2att
Baseband: I747UCDLK3

Thank you!

Is the contact using an iPhone? (iMessage and SMS sometimes just don't work together, and iPhone users have been mislead by Apple that if there's a problem it's wih the rest of the world, not with Apple.)

If not, do you have that contact blocked? All calls (which could include texts) sent to VM? Is that contact having a problem with anyone else?

Have you tried removing the contact (in Contacts) and adding it as a new contact?

Thanks!

He is using an iPhone. I receive texts from other iPhone users fine though...

I tried deleting him as a contact, and then in the messaging app it showed just his number instead of his name. Again, I clicked on it, and it showed the message I sent, but it did not show the messages he sent. After clicking back, the number remained bold signifying the unread status.

I checked all places to see if he was blocked, in contacts, in messaging. He is not blocked anywhere.

99% of the time there is a message problem with apple users using the apple message system it is because you are somehow set as having the same all apple setup and not SMS on his end.
