Unable to see the home screen

Now that summer is upon us I find myself shielding the screen trying to read the time or read a text. It looks to other people around me as though I'm doing something illegal. (I'm not)

Is there a way to make the home screen white and the text black. Perhaps an app to do something similar.

Your suggestions please.

Hi the.brayford and welcome to AF!
Lol.. I hear what your saying... When your shielding your phone from the sun, it looks like your up to No Good! ;)

One thing that you can do is turn up the brightness level on the screen, which makes it easier to see/read in bright light situations.
Go to "System Settings/Display/Brightness" and manually increase the brightness level or activate the Automatic Brightness

The Galaxy Fame also has an ambient light sensor. Which will automatically adjust the screens brightness level according to the light source around the device.

Thanks for the reply.

You'd think the 'Ambient Light Sensor' would make the screen go darker when it detects sunlight or does it work the other way around.

I've adjusted the screens brightness level but will have to wait until tomorrow to see if makes any difference as it will be cloudy all day today (Sunday).

Thanks again.
