Help Unable to shut off keystroke sounds

Just recently received 2 defys from tmobile and have done most current update on both (the 2.2 update). one works fine but on the other, you cannot shut off the keystroke noise while typing. if you put the phone in silent mode, it shuts the sound off but the settings feature does not shut it off. anyone have similar or a fix? it was doing this before and after the recent update...thx in advance

It looks like keyboard feedback is activated. Look under Settings / Language & keyboard - find currently used keyboard here (Android keyboard?) and look after "Sound on keypress" or similar settings.
