Unable to use custom sounds [HTC Sensation 4G]

Lurker
My HTC Sensation 4G will only let me customize the default ring tone. I cannot figure out how to use custom sounds for notifications and for ring tones and text messages for individual contacts.

I've saved these sound files to the phone's sd card, but there is not option to use any sounds except the HTC ones.

This was so easy on the Blackberry Bold... Can anyone help?

For notification sounds, you'll need to make a folder on your SD card and name it "notifications", no quotes or caps, and put any custom sounds you want there. That will make them available from the notification sound menu. BTW - The same can be done for "ringtones" and "alarms".

For different sounds for individual text contacts, I think you'll need to download an alternate text app such as "Handcent" or "ChompSMS" - both available in the market.

Hope that covers it.

Thanks for the help on that one.

Do you know how to have the contact's organization/company appear with the name in the call/text logs?

Thanks.

No prob - glad to help.

As for your last question - short of including some identifier in the contact's actual name, sorry I don't know how to do that. Maybe someone else will chime in here...
