Help undefined icon on status bar?

Recently replaced an LG G3 with the Samsung Galaxy S8, which I am now mastering.

I downloaded the manual. Pages 20 and 21 list the meanings of various icons which appear on the status bar. My phone has one which is not listed there. It consists of a white box with a capital N in black on it; the slanted line of the N is a double line.

Anyone know what this is? Thanks for any answers.

That's the NFC icon for Near Field Communication. Used for sharing pics with nearby devices, electronic payment methods, etc. You can turn it off if you don't use it everyday. (pull down quick settings, using double finger swipe down from the status bar, then find the icon and toggle from there)

Thanks for the info, particularly the double-finger-swipe kata. That icon is probably shown elsewhere in the manual. I confess I have not read it all yet.
