"undo" function while typing on android?? (HELP ME SWITCH TO ANDROID!!)

Hey all,

I'm an IOS device user, but I've been wanting to switch from IOS to android for some time now. The only problem is that I write really long emails on my device in which I on occasion accidentally delete the text, so I absolutely need a phone that has an undo function (the equivalent of "control + z" or "⌘ + z" on our computers when typing). I checked a couple of years ago, and it seemed that only IOS offered this, which was why I bought my IOS device. Are there any android devices that to your knowledge have this function? On the iPhone, you activate it by shaking the screen.

Thanks.

Compose your email first with Google documents or similar. GD saves as you write. Pretty sure any office suite app can work.

Also, Android is not iPhone. If they were identical what would be the fun?

I can see why you would want undo based on what you are used to.

Stock android doesn't have that. But if you accidentally delete something, you can always paste and it will be there (as long as you don't delete something else that displaces it in the clipboard). And if you swipe a word that is interpreted incorrectly, most keyboards give you a choice of other words they think you might have meant.

I've been using android for six years, never missed undo. I think it's just a matter if getting used to the slightly different behaviour. .

If your device has a large enough screen then try to install the "Hackers Keyboard" app. I use it on my tablet as it offers a full desktop keyboard functionality. i.e. you can perform "CTR+Z, CTR+Y, CTR+A, CTR+C,........etc " like you would on a PC.
Having a Clipboard manager app is also extremely useful and highly recommended if you type alot on your android device.
