Hi, all..
I was flipping between local apps on my phone, as I normally would... and I found the handset a bit warm. I had a look at the 'main screen' and the battery was down to 28%... Checking "OS Monitor" and "SystemPanel 2" apps (these can be found on Google Play) and it seems either "Skype" or "Android System" or "System Processes" were using between 20% and 50% of the CPU. I make sure "Skype" is not used (I always exit the application after use -- the most recent of which was probably 2+ weeks ago and I've restarted the phone since then anyway) and yet here it was running. I also couldn't stop it, using "SystemPanel 2" or the normal "Settings > Application Manager > Stop Application" options... so these processes were still going feral.
One of the most weird things was that I have an app called "Simple Battery Graph" running... and it shows that even though the phone was recharging (through a PSU in a wall socket), the battery was charging but still discharging -- "System2 > LIVE > ANALYSIS" showed Charge Rate = -108% -- I'd never seen anything like THAT before.
So, I restarted the phone, while it was still connected to the PSU... and after a few minutes, everything was sensible again. The "Simple Battery Graph" display was showing the charge increasing... "OS Monitor" and "SystemPanel 2" were showing "Android System" or "System Processes" using 3.5% or so, which is normal... and "Skype" wasn't running at all.
Any clues on what might be awry here?
Thanks.
