Uninstalled an app, now i can't connect to mobile network...

Hello,

I have been using this application until today:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.droid27.batterypowerwidget

I used it as a battery meter and also as a quick way to turn on my mobile network, wi-fi, bluetooth... but i wasn't happy with it because every time i wanted to turn on my mobile network, i had to click the 3g button in the main menu of the app, then i had to go to the settings/wireless and connections and turn in on manually because i would get a connection failed(and nothing was happening if i just turned it on directly from the settings menu, i always had to go to the app menu first) and that was the only way of turning the mobile network on. So i decided to uninstall the app today but after i did that, there was no way for me to turn the mobile network on again. I tried downloading some widgets, putting the phone into airplane mode, i tried the battery cycle, i tried to turn it on from the power button, and nothing. When i go to settings, and click on the mobile network box, nothing happens. What should i do? I am grateful for any help you can provide me!

I have an HTC Desire with Android 2.2.2.

Hi Flavius11, and welcome to AF :)

Hmm, I wonder whether this app was turning data off by messing with the APNs (Access Point Names)? Some apps do disable data that way, and if so that might explain the problem: if you uninstalled it when data was off (so these settings messed-up) they remain messed-up. Also I notice that what it's doing now sounds like what it did previously when you just tried to turn data on without using the widget.

So, go to the mobile data settings and look at your APN settings. Compare these with what they should be for your network (you should be able to get them from a web search or your operator's website), and if they look wrong that may well be the problem, and entering the correct values should fix it.
