Uninstalling avg on desire?..maybe? :/

I am new owner of a htc desire, and just getting grips with the my new phone(which i think is excellent!). I have downloaded a few apps, one is which is the free AVG app. ( Is this one good or there better ones on the market maybe?
The probelm i have got it stops me for example downloading 3rd part apps which i have paid for, and i cant seem to found a way around it. i have looked in the menus etc. Is there a way around this? which am missing?Or do i have to uninstall AVG to allow me to download 3rd party apps?..If so how do i do it?
Any feedback would be much apperciated :)

Thanks

Well being an anti virus app, thats what its designed to do, to stop you from installing apps that arent certified. Looks like you will have to uninstall it if you want to sideload apps.

There doesn't seem to be more use for anti-virus apps at the moment. My suggestion would be to remove it and see if that solves the issue.

It has been known to be a little touchy at times, but there are alternatives on the market. I use BluePoint Security which is free and light so you will not know its there until you try something dodgy. Try it and see whether you get the same result
