Help Unintentional split screen

I've had a quick search and can't find mention of this elsewhere.

I can be using my S7e, either reading a page or swiping through apps, and the phone will vibrate and the split screen view will open up even though my hand is nowhere near the Recents button.

Anyone else have a phantom long press of Recents register?

Don't have a direct solution (settings etc.), but try out the following app "multi window toggle". It should fix your problem until the more formal solution becomes available.
Small comfort, but this issue is being experienced on other (relatively few) S7's
