Help Unknown battery use

JBentleyR

What is this 'com.android.chrome:sand...' that appears to be using 15% of my battery recently, and how can I stop it? (Second highest - 'Screen' is highest at 29%).

That's chrome using your battery. Most of the time this relates to having a window open in chrome that has some kind of process running on it (the sandbox part tends to mean it's a page open in chrome rather than chrome itself - chrome "sandboxes" the windows you have open as a security measure.) Can you look and see if you have any pages open in chrome that you can close?

Thank you for your very helpful reply.

I haven't used Chrome recently but, on reflection, it could be that pages in Facebook have utilised it.

As for whether any pages are open in Chrome, I can't be sure, but I have nothing open at the moment.

A matter of concern is that I haven't noticed this entry on the 'battery' page until recently, and I don't think I have consciously made any changes to settings. The only thing I did do recently was to uninstall Google+.

Thanks Guitar, I've done that now.

Anyway, looking again, I now see that this Chrome thing is down to 3% and at the bottom of the list.
