Help Unknown firmware update

I just picked up my Verizon M9 and it's getting a firmware download. Does anyone know if this is Marshmallow? It doesn't say what it is.

It just finished and it wasn't Marshmallow. It was a software update from 2.6.605.15 to 3.10.605.7. I found, on the Verizon site, that this was a security update with some software fixes. It specifically mentioned the NFL app.

Most manufacturers have committed to monthly updates, although a lot of that will depend on the networks.

2.6.605.15 to 3.10.605.7 is quite a big jump in build number though which normally signifies a relatively big OS update (although things could have changed, I've not had an HTC in a while). Understandable you'd hope it was Marshmallow. :)

I just wish Verizon updated that frequently.

They ONLY update when public pressure is on them so hard, that they have to do something.
The last update ONLY fixed the message hack thing... the name starts with 'S' and that's all my memory remembers.

The Galaxy S5 IMO, will never receive another update from VZW. WYSIWYG

that is what they did for my 'S' model, it got one lousy update, and that was a security issue only,.... they never, ever, gave it any more version updates.

I've found, with HTC, Verizon has sent out the updates that HTC & Google provides. Usually later than the others, but sent out.

IMHO you did the right thing. I've had four HTC smartphones and loved each one. In the past I tried a Motorola smartphone and hated it. I went right back to HTC. I admit that HTC support is awful, but Verizon's support has been wonderful most of the time. The few times that I was disappointed by a Verizon tech, I just thanked them for nothing and hung up. I waited a day and called back. The second tech was much more understanding and helped me. That's why I've been with Verizon for over ten years. I just got switched from the M8 to the M9 and I love it. It does get a little warm at times, but I haven't been able to fry an egg yet.

My m9 has been horrible since that update. Hating life right now. First time an HTC has let me down.

And no, not prepared to factory reset.

Have you cleaned the phone's cache. It helped me. Granted it's a little more involved than in previous models, but it might help. I know you're a moderator, but sometimes even moderators can forget things. Just trying to help. :)
