I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. What are the little briefcases with a play arrow in them. Top of my screen Left to Right.

Hi, and welcome!
Take your finger and pull down at the top of the screen. You will see a list of things, and among them should be several of the little briefcases, with names of apps ready to be updated.
You can touch the name of the app and update it.
