I am on the $45 plan (because I need more than 300 minutes). I have received no such text.
Virgin Mobile just sent me a text saying they increased my minutes to unlimited for the $35 plan that I'm on. Did anyone else get this?
I haven't. I'm a long time customer too and am on the $35-300 minute plan as well...I saw someone else post earlier on VM's Facebook page asking the same question and added my 2 cents worth, but they haven't answered my question yet...But good for you, glad they did that for you...May I ask when your plan is due for renewal?...Mine is the 3rd of every month
My renewal date is tomorrow now that I think about it. Maybe you'll also get a text on the day before?
VM does have a newer $35 plan with unlimited talk, text and data... but only 250MB of high speed data. I'd double check your data plan options just in case they switched you to that:

I received that message last week. Here is the exact page that the link in text leads to:
Great news for you! We
Well I don't think they mean that you lose it if you change phones, but rather you lose it if you change as they say "device type" so like a dumb phone to a smart phone. I could be wrong on that though.
This is the email response I got from Virgin when I asked about changing devices:
"s you do not switch it to a different plan. Only you can switch it and it depends to you if you want to keep your unlimited plan for $35 per month, or if you want to get a different one. "By changing your device, it means exactly what you said. You can swap phones as long as the one you are swapping to is the same brand and kind as the one you have now. otherwise this plan will become unavailable for future months."
So, basically, in order to keep this plan, and change phones, you would have to get the exact same model. I'm waiting for them to answer my question about what plan you would go to if you change to a different phone. If you are forced onto one of their new plans, I think I will be leaving Virgin when it's time for a new phone.
I don't know. Virgin Mobile customer service reps from my past experience have no idea what they are talking about. One way to find out if we can switch or not would be to try switching to a different phone and seeing what options come up in plans. Obviously don't go through with the switch, but just an idea if anyone has a spare Virgin phone lying around.
I know, I don't automatically trust anything I'm told by any CS rep at any company, especially VM, but they've now posted the same answer to this on their FB page, so it seems likely. I've already started looking around. So far I'm leaning towards Target's Brightspot. They have a similar $35 plan to the "old" VM $35 plan, plus you get a $25 Target gift card every 6 months, so if you shop at Target, it works out to a shade under $31/month. They run on T-Mobile, and you can bring any unlocked GSM phone.
Damn, that sucks haha. Do you mind linking me to the FB post they made about it? I took a look at the Brightspot plan, but no data on their $35 plan!
