Hello,
I having a android(2.3.3) mobile (HTC Wildfire S) And i have lost some data in internal memory. Now i am trying to recover deleted data from internal memory using some tool. For that it requires Bootloader should be unlock(S-OFF).

Now i want to know that if i do this (unlock bootloader),Is internal or external memory data alter??
I also want one more thing that is,Can i take an image of internal memory. So that if there is some alteration occured then i will be able to restore my previous data.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks and Regards:

Unlocking the bootloader has nothing to do with the memory your talking about accessing. That's not to say crazy, off the wall events can't occur, but as a whole, neither internal nor external memory will be effected.

Hooking your phone to your computer, should allow you to see all files you have put on there. You should be able to simply drag and drop from your phone, to a folder of your choice on your computer.

Also, I'm not sure what program your trying to use to recover lost files, but I don't think that it is possible. Static memory, like those of SD cards and your phones internal memory, do not work like magnetic memory of hard drives.

On computer, when you delete something, the OS marks the file as deleted and changes the placeholder to allow the file to be over written. The file continues to exist until its over written. That's why you can recover it. Static memory removes the files the moment you hit okay. That's why your usually asked if your sure you want to do this, it's pretty final.

Again I don't know what your using to try to recover the files, and I'm surely no expert, but I don't think it's possible.
