Unlock MPCS Brand Phone

If they ask just tell them why like selling the phone going overseas should not be an issue if you have been with them for like 3 months

Place a non accepted sim in the sim slot of your current device put the code in there (device must be on) if it's the right code then it will be unlocked. If it is wrong then that will be added to the counter which cannot be reset. If you use up all your tries it will become hard locked to which you can only use it on metro.

sorry for not being helpful about the topic but just glad that i use a nexus. don't have to deal with these kind of craps.

Carrier branding is a curse on gsm phones, every time I peek in on unlocked sony devices seeing their unlocked bootloader and custom kernels keeping their device relevant and current while I am stuck here with a device I bought 2nd hand and had to pay more to use on tmobile for sim unlock code icing on the cake can't do everything thing I want...yes only thing left that is At&sneeze is this deathstar on the bottom that wards off aio salesmen.

Unlocked unbranded is the way to go, next major phone buy is moto x,

Im driving Google Nexus 5 on Metro now. A friend and I want to switch to TMobile but she has LG F6 from Metro. I want to unlock it so we can do that.

Any reason for the switch to t mobile? You will get the exact same coverage and the exact same speeds as you do on metro now. The only real true advantages of t mobile over metro is 1. Tethering. T mobile plans allow tethering. 2. Being able to finance a device thru t mobile. But seeing as your bringing over devices this isn't the issue. And 3. Slightly better customer service. That's about it. And if tethering isn't that important to you then I dunno why you would wanna pay the extra amount t mobile charges and switch.

OK now that's what I needed to hear. The customer service MUST be better than MPCS, but I don't call them much at all. I think I will just unlock hers for the hell of it and stay with MPCS. Thanks for input timmyh318 .

No problem. Yes the phone customer service is better on t mobile but in metro areas there are far more metro PCS brick and mortar stores than t mobile. So to me it kinda works out even. But as far as coverage signal network speeds ect ect metro and t mobile will be identical in your situation.

there is no difference between cell services of metro and t-mob if you are using GSM. last month i got a t-mob prepaid sim and used it on pay per day with 200 mb of data for $3.00 for 4 days just to test drive for myself. the differences i noticed....

t-mob customer service is way better and knows their shit.
t-mob gives you 30 days of service starting on the day of payment when you prepay for a month regardless of bill due date unlike the moronic policy of metro where you loose days of service unless you pay on time or pay 5$ to change bill due date.
t-mob is smarter. they keep tab on the amount of data and cuts you off on time.
it takes a little bit more effort to tether at t-mob.
on metro you get unlimited tether on your nexus 5 with just a UA switcher.
t-mobile puts your account on restricted category by default. requires your SS number as a proof of age when visiting age restricted websites. which should work better for parents.

for me i decided to stick with metro for now. 20$ more is not worth the switch.

Doesn't take much to tether on t mobile as there offer tethering on there plans. Up to 2.5 GB depending on the plan you have. And having dealt with t mobile c.s. since the old voice stream days saying they know there sh$t is wrong. Yes some c.s. reps do and some don't. Its the same as any other carrier. But in large there c.s. nowadays is adequate. Its deff downhill from what it was in 2006 2007. If your not on t mobile I have to ask. How can you comment on the customer service? Lol

not a problem. as i said in my post i got a prepaid sim to try for 4 days. before doing that i called their customer service and talked for half an hour. he explained all different plans and scenarios. i had a list of questions written on paper to get answers. i am picky. so i guess i was lucky to get a knowledgeable one.
about tethering, it takes a little bit more work if you want to go past their limit.

I got my new gsm phone in the mail (FDEX) instead of at a Gettro store.
the microsim came on a credit card size card I had to punch the sim out of.
The credit card size one has a PUK code on it along with the sim number and an activation by date on it.
My question is the PUK number on there the correct PUK code to unlock
with? If so how do I use it? This is my first GSM Sim card phone.

Thanks any help will be greatly appreciated.

The PUK code is not for sim unlocking your phone. A PUK code is a pin unlock code and is specific only to your sim card not your device. Has zero to do with sim unlocking. Youll prolly never use the PUK code for anything.
