The only way to recover your phone is to do a factory/hard reset.
Keep in mind, this will delete EVERYTHING on the internal memory. You can try to plug your phone into your computer at the lock screen to see if it connects to try and backup anything on the phone you don't want to lose, but it may not connect due to the screen security.
Once you want to perform the hard reset, follow these steps:
1.) Pull the battery out of the phone.
2.) Replace the battery into the phone.
3.) Hold down the Volume Down button.
4.) While continuing to hold the Vol - button, press the power button briefly.
5.) Continue holding Vol- for 10 seconds.
6.) A menu with a few options will appear on the screen.
7.) Select Hard/Factory Reset, and let Android work it's magic.
This will reset the phone to it's factory state, and will remove the forgotten pattern.
