Hi, I've recently upgraded to 4.1.2 from Gingerbread and am having trouble finding a good 'unlock using wifi' app. I used to use Unlock at Home Using Wifi by Khroma Labs (excellent little app) but it doesn't work on 4.1.2. The same guy has done a second version but only for rooted 4+ phones.

There's a few other apps that work but they all need Device Administrator rights and only work with pin or password, whereas I'm a pattern kind of guy (much quicker). Is this a limitation of 4.1.2? I suppose what I'm asking is does anyone know of any apps like Unlock at Home Using Wifi where I can unlock at home with a pattern?

i use automateit for stuff like this. i don't know if it specifically can do what you are trying to do, but there are many cool things it can do. for instance, i use it to automatically turn off wifi when i am out of range of my home router. and it auto turns on wifi when i return to within range.

there is a free version, so can't hurt to check it out. and i'm certain tasker could manage it, but i find tasker pretty confusing.

I'm using a Galaxay Ace 2. I've started using Unlock With Wifi. It's basically what I'm after apart from the main thing I wanted - the ability to unlock using a pattern! I've got used to using a pin now, it isn't that bad I suppose.

From reading some FAQs of some of these wifi unlock apps it does seem like pattern unlock is a limitation of Jelly Bean (unless rooted), as I used to be able do it fine on Gingerbread. Thanks for the replies guys.
