After too many attempts to draw the correct pattern, my phone locked and requested my google account which i provided in vain. What will I do to unlock it.

The phone is asking for the Gmail address you use for the phone. If you forgot the password, get it using the "forgot password" function on any PC. Just navigate to mail.google.com and once you know the address & password, use THAT on the phone. Hope this helps.
